This video introduces educators to the Skull Detectives SPiN lesson. We address how to use the lesson plan, how to set up the activities, and how to use the pre and post assessment quiz. In this lesson, students learn how to analyze Cherokee stories and experience the importance of culturally relevant learning through traditional ecological knowledge. Through an investigation of skulls, they will compare Indigenous cultural observations in long-told stories with scientific analysis to connect how animals have evolved to survive and interact with one another.
